Gray Palmer Ltd has been trading in the medieval town of Saffron Walden for well over 100 years.
Originally trading in Debden Road it moved to its present site of Number 47 High Street at the turn of the 20th century.
Gray Palmer Ltd is still a family owned business with it's present Managing Director, Mr Richard Palmer, being the great grandson of the founder. The stores present address, as above, has change a great deal since the doors first opened. Originally the building called London House was two shops, Gray Palmer Ltd and Walbros which sold toys and bicycles. When Walbros ceased trading Gray Palmer Ltd moved through to the adjoining premises. After many more alterations the store took the shape of how it looks now.
Gray Palmer Ltd supplies a complete range of menswear from underwear and socks through to formal suits and overcoats. The store also services many of the local schools with their uniforms and also has a comprehensive formal hirewear department (see wedding hire).
