Tips
Do not leave it until you are about to leave to tie your tie. You will struggle under the pressure and make a bad job of your bow, whilst your wife files for a divorce.

Tips
Practice with the tie around your leg to learn the knot. This way you can practice without the mirror confusing you.

Tips
Tie a bow tie in the same way you drive
a car, KEEP LEFT.
Cross right to LEFT, make the shape of
the tie towards the LEFT, after dropping the tie over the front, take the tie to the LEFT side before pushing through the knot.
How to tie a bow tie

Start by making the right side of the tie longer than the left side.

Now cross the right side over the top of the left side, push under and up through the loop, and pull tight.
Notice that the tie crossed at the base of the bulb of the left side and at the top button of your shirt.
Keep the top part of the tie on your left shoulder while you are working on the shape of the tie.

Make a crease in the lower bulb, halfing the bulb and making the start of the "bow Shape".
Move this crease towards your left shoulder so that the shape is horizontal.
Drop the longer end of the tie vertically over the bow shape.
Take the bulb (not the end) of this end and push it around the back of the tie in the newly formed loop.
Push just the bulb of the tie through the loop and stop.
At this point the tie can look very messy and you will be tempted to undo and start again, don't.
Check that you have a double thickness and a single thickness of tie on both sides.
If you have just pull the double thick part of the tie to tighten the bow and the single thick part to straighten.
Keep working at this method and the tie will start to come together.
If you find that the back of the tie is larger than the front, undo the tie and adjust the tie to a smaller size.
GOOD LUCK...
